In the Secondary Department we take part in lots of activities both at school and on trips out. Here is a selection of some of the things we do.
We go shopping for ingredients.
We learn to prepare food.

When we visited Kentwell Hall…
we learnt about the Tudors…
and the way they lived.
We have regular Science lessons…
in the labs at Sudbury Ormiston Academy.
I am concentrating hard in our Maths lesson.
I am using an iPad as part of our Computing lessons.
We learn how to play lots of different instruments…
in our Music lessons. I really enjoy the xylophones!
We learnt all about the emergency services…
and we got to look in a fire engine, a police car and an ambulance.
We really enjoyed our river barge trip along the River Stour.
We have been sketching at Gainsborough’s House.
Each year we help pack boxes for Operation Christmas Child.
We make visits to the local library and other local amenities.
In History lessons we learnt about the Second World War…
and we tried on different soldier uniforms. Don’t we look smart!
We practised how to put up tents and camp beds.
When we made cushions we learnt about…
patterns, measuring and cutting fabric…
and how to carefully use a sewing machine.
I made this beautiful mask.
I learnt how to paint with a roller.
We learnt about planting seeds.
At the Museum of East Anglian Life…
we practised lots of new skills. I think I have mastered sawing!
We were very proud of the planter we made.
We planted hanging baskets,
made willow dragonflies,
learnt about hurdle making,
learnt how to make kites,
used a printing press,
and tried screen printing.
We go to a variety of sports venues…
and try a whole range of sporting activities.
Some we have tried include trampolining and cricket.
We learnt new football skills…
and played table tennis.
I tried not wobble on the balance beam!
