What We Do
Hillside School is a community special school for pupils aged two and a half to 19 years, who have severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties, some of whom also have specific sensory, physical and behavioural conditions.
The majority of pupils with severe learning difficulties transfer from Hillside at the age of 16 to provision at nearby Colleges of Further Education or 6th Form Centres. Post 16 provision at Hillside currently meets the needs of pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties.
We are situated in Sudbury, an historic market town in West Suffolk and serve a wide area, comprising Sudbury, Great Cornard and Haverhill and the surrounding villages.
We are a friendly and caring school and we provide an excellent education and an extensive range of opportunities for pupils to reach their potential.
Hillside School has three main departments:-
Foundation Department: for pupils up to the end of Key Stage 1 consisting of two classes – the Assessment Nursery and F1.
Primary Department: for pupils up to the end of Key Stage 2 consisting of three classes – P1, P2 and P3.
Secondary Department: for pupils in Key Stages 3 and 4 and Post 16 pupils. This department has three classes – MS1, MS2 and MS3.
